I mapped out realistic scenarios where Jack needs a simplified tool to handle tasks like invoicing, tracking expenses, and generating reports.

User Scenario

Matching Uncategorised Transactions to Invoices

Goal: Michael aims to efficiently categorize and match all uncategorized transactions to their respective invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness in the financial records.

STEP 1

Log In:

Michael logs into the Baguette platform from his office computer. The dashboard presents a clear overview of financial activities and alerts.

STEP 2

Navigate to Banking:

He clicks on the "Banking" tab from the main menu, which takes him to the accounting module with a list of financial tasks and a section for transaction management.

STEP 3

View and Match Transactions:

Michael reviews the list of uncategorized transactions. For each transaction, he clicks on the "Match" button, which opens a side panel displaying potential matching invoices based on the transaction amount, date, and description.

STEP 4

Confirm Matches:

Michael carefully reviews the suggested matches. He selects the appropriate invoice for each transaction and confirms the match. The system updates the transaction status and categorizes it accordingly.

STEP 5

Review Matching Summary:

Once all transactions are matched, Michael reviews a summary report that shows the number of successfully matched transactions and any remaining uncategorized items.

STEP 6

Log Out:

Michael logs out of the platform, confident that all transactions are properly categorized and reconciled, providing a clear and accurate view of the company’s financial status.

I created a smooth flow to ensure Jack could easily navigate between different financial tasks, minimizing any friction.
